      Solution to Puzzle 75

1. Qe8 Rxg7 2. Qxe1
The Black rook is pinned to the Black king by the White rook along rank 7. To win material, the White queen moves on e8 to set the second pin on the Black rook by pinning it to the Black queen. You should learn and remember this chess tactic of setting the second pin on the same piece to win material.

1. Bc3 Bxc3 2. c7 Be5 3. c8=Q [1… f3 2. Bxe5+ Ke7 3. Bg3]
If you do not know how to promote the White pawn, you should learn and analyze this position. This method of promoting is typical for the bishop endings with the same color… The Black bishop is controlling c7… To promote, the White bishop is sacrificed pinning the Black bishop. Just move the White bishop on c3.
