1. Qf6+ Kh7 2. Qh6+ Kg8 3. Rd8# [1… Kh5? 2. Qh6#]
Driving king into mating net… After 1. Qf6+, the Black king has 2 moves to retreat on h5 and h7. The second choice leads to mate in 2. After 1… Kh7, the queen checks to drive the king on g8 for the back-rank mate delivered by the rook.

Checkmate Puzzle 14 Solution
1. c6+ Ka6 2. Nxc7#
The a5-square is attacked by a White pawn, and the Black king is blocked by its own pieces on a7, b6, c7. The White pawn delivers check 1. c6+, and the Black king has only one move on a6. Then the White knight takes on c6 with mate.
