1. Rc1+ Kb6 2. Qc7#
The White light bishop attacks a6, b5 — now White is ready to begin… After 1. Rc1+, the Black king has only one safe square to retreat on b6 (the knight on d6 is pinned); and the c-rook covers c7 for its queen. The White queen mates from c7.

Checkmate Puzzle 32 Solution
1. exf7+ Bxf7 2. Qd7+ Kf8 3. Qxf7#
The White light bishop controls the line b3-f7. After 1. exf7+, Black has only one legal move and possibility 1… Bxf7. Now, the square f7 is clearly seen… The White queen moves on d7 with check aiming at f7 and mates from the aimed square.
