1. Qg8+ Rxg8 2. Nf7#
White has sacrificed his queen on g8 with check, and Black has to take the White queen blocking his king all around. Being sacrificed, the queen cleared f7 which is not attacked by any Black piece — the White knight delivers mate from f7.

Checkmate Puzzle 30 Solution
1. Nh4 ~ 2. Ng6#
The Black king is locked at a corner and may not move. To checkmate, White needs another piece with final attack on the Black king — the White knight moves on h4, and then on g6 to deliver the final attack. And Black is not able to prevent.
