1. Rf2+ Nxf2 2. Ng3#
This is an ancient chess puzzle on mate in 2. This chess puzzle may be not so easy for chess beginners to solve. The puzzle is useful and has the only correct solution – White moves the rook to sacrifice and then checkmate with a knight.

Solution to Puzzle 18

1. Rh7+ Bxh7 2. Nf7#
After the first White move 1. Rh7+, Black has the only legal answer and has to move 1… Bxh7. Now the Black king is blocked and can be easily checkmated by the White move 2. Nf7#. This is a typical chess combination.
